“Our physical maladies often have a correlation to the unbalanced energy within our bodies.” —Sahara Rose,” Ayurvedic expert.

It’s unfortunate that we are not taught the subject “chakra balance for beginners” in a classroom setting. I believe if we add it to the schooling curriculum, most of the physical ailments won’t even occur or if they do, they’d be super-easy to fix – as Ms. Rose claims.

Many people who haven’t been to an energy healing session like reiki or haven’t taken meditation or yoga classes would struggle to understand what chakra is all about.

If you’re here and you’re clueless, sit back with a cup of coffee and get prepared for a brief yet powerful guide on chakras and how to balance them for wholesome wellness.

Because part of the reason you’re feeling so low and dispirited is that your energies are imbalanced. And we have to find a way to put them back in order.

But what’s a chakra and what has it got to do with our health?

The term ‘Chakra’ is a Sanskrit word and means “disk” or “wheel.” These are spinning energy wheels running along the length of your spine, and each corresponds to certain nerve bundles and major organs.

It’s important to keep them “open” and balanced – if they aren’t, the flow of energy is disrupted and leads to physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra. That means if you’re having a headache, it could be tied to an unbalanced third eye chakra.

Unbelievable, right?

Not so much if you make it a point to balance your energy centers and see the magic for yourself.

Each chakra functions differently and rules over a unique section of the body. Following are my hand-vetted few best practices that you can apply to balance all the chakras and enjoy good health and wellness.

5 Tips That I Use To Balance My Chakras

The internet is chock-full of several ways to balance your internal energies but since you’re reading my blog, you’re in for luck. Being an advocate and practitioner of spirituality, here’s a peek into my rule book that teaches easy peasy ways of chakra balancing for beginners.

1.      Practice visualization

Balance begins from visualization. When you feel low, start imagining healing energies pouring through your body and traveling along your spine. Tough, I know. But once you get used to it, you may start to feel certain parts of your body getting warm, tingling with pressure, or even changing colors. At this stage, it means your body is shifting and releasing energy.

2.      Take a sound bath (or/with a regular bath)

Different sound frequencies correlate with different chakras in our bodies. Certain tunes, melodies, and vibrations from these sounds help clear energy blockages and promote a healthy energy flow. Perhaps the next time when you’re feeling downcast, take a hot shower or a long, warm bath with the music on for immediate impact.

Ever wondered why some music helped clear your head and restore your focus? Now you’d know.

3.      Try reconnecting with nature

The root chakra sits at the bottom of the tailbone and is usually the cause of physical symptoms. An unbalanced root chakra makes you feel anxious, insecure, ungrounded, fatigued, or generally upset. In that case, you need to restore your sense of grounding without becoming inflexible. Connect with nature, take a walk in the park, and spend time outdoors. Drive to the beach and walk bare feet on the earth’s soil to receive its negative ions. You’ll find yourself rejuvenating.

4.      Chakra-balancing chants!

The second last on my list is practicing the chakra-balancing chants. Or you could say the daily one-syllable “seed” mantras.

Try chanting “I am Lam” for the root chakra or “I am Vam” for the sacral chakra to heal your energies and clear the blockages. I know it will feel odd. So, it’s better to incorporate chanting in a yoga class, which brings us to the final tip.

5.      Envision color meditation

Seven chakras are associated with seven different colors. Red is for the root, green is for the heart while blue is for the throat chakra, and so on.

Once you know where each chakra is located in your body and what color it is, all you have to do is go into meditation and envision the specific energy center you want to enhance or balance. Imagine the color radiating out of it, emanating from your body. One by one, envision the color placements and breathe into each one, allowing it to expand and burgeon until the light gushes from it.

When I used to balance my chakras and feel the difference it made in my physical and spiritual being, I always wore my favorite Tibetan Meditation Bracelet. It is a gorgeous piece of jewelry that’s not only beautiful to pair with casual outfits but has spiritual healing powers as well.

Basically, the beads are handcrafted in Tibet and blessed and consecrated by Monks. They contain incense ash and golden powder that dates back to centuries in the Himalayas. Wearing it during meditation for chakra healing and spiritual enlightenment helped create an ambiance of emotional calm always instantly. I’d love you to try it out and tell me how it made you feel!

Energy healing and restoration are not myths. The human being is a combination of bone, flesh, blood, and spirit. Where we often chase after keeping the tangible parts of our existence in good shape, we tend to neglect the spirit.

In fact, however, I strongly believe that the Universe is above what it seems. The world is ruled by energies, and so is the human body.
